Imagine a space where nature thrives and people flourish; A vibrant urban oasis that not only beautifies our city but heals the land beneath it. This is the transformative power of Waterfront Botanical Gardens in Louisville, Kentucky. From a former landfill, we have cultivated a sanctuary that inspires, educates, and connects our community.

Since opening in 2019, the Gardens have become a cornerstone of Louisville's cultural and environmental landscape. In 2024, the Gardens completed Phase 1 of our Master Plan, including the Graeser Family Education Center, Ellen T. Leslie Botanical Classrooms, Beargrass Creek Pathway, and more. In 2025, construction began on Phase 2A including the Graeser Family Bonsai Garden, Beargrass Creek Overlook, and Tree Allée. We look forward to the grand opening of this expanded garden space in Spring 2027.
